What the pilot does and does not verify

Early pilot and sample content
TradeCasa is an early D.C. metro pilot. Fictional sample businesses, projects, reviews, availability, ranges, and opportunities are labeled; they cannot accept real work and are not included in real ratings. Approved businesses may choose to publish live profiles. Directory placement and suggested matches are planning aids based on information available in the platform, not endorsements or guarantees.
Credentials and project decisions
Staff review evidence supplied by professional applicants, such as business identity, licensing or registration where applicable, and insurance. That review can be incomplete or become outdated. “Approved” means the platform accepted an application at a point in time; it does not certify workmanship, financial condition, or future compliance. Verify current license and insurance with the issuing source and agree permits, site conditions, payment, and scope directly with the professional.
AI-assisted planning
AI is optional. If you opt in, your project description, selections, and follow-up answers are sent to OpenAI to draft an editable brief. Keep names and contact details out of free-text project fields. AI can make mistakes or omit details. Review every statement before saving or sharing; get qualified advice for design, code, safety, engineering, pricing, and permits. You can continue without AI.
Sharing and independent transactions
Submitting a brief does not automatically share it with a professional. Requesting an introduction shares the relevant project information; contact details appear after acceptance. Accepted team members can see shared workspace information. TradeCasa records selections and progress, while final contracts, employment arrangements, product orders, payments, and warranties remain between the parties. Staff may archive a project and remove professional platform access; the homeowner keeps the archived project and may request reinstatement.
Reviews, compensation, and notices
Real reviews are tied to confirmed completed projects and may be moderated under the Community and Review Guidelines. They reflect reviewers’ experiences and are not independently verified assessments of every aspect of the work. The pilot describes participation as free where stated in the product; any future paid placement or commercial relationship that affects a listing should be disclosed next to that listing. Account and project notices appear in the platform; email alerts depend on configured delivery. No marketing email subscription is implied by creating an account.
